NCRFU Crowns Champions

SFGG played host to the NCRFU Championship Weekend on 4/23/16 and it was an incredible day of hard hitting, action packed rugby from 9:00am through 7:00pm.

The Life West Gladiatrix Women were crowned champions in a win over SFGG Women's in Division 2. Life was up 50-0 at the half, but the Lady Defenders of the Gate refused to go away without a score. Final... Life West Gladiatrix 72 SFGG Women's 5

The Men's Division III match was expected to be a highlight of the weekend with both Napa and Colusa remaining undefeated with one tie split between them. At the half, it was a 10-10 stalemate in a hard hitting match up. After consecutive yellow cards to Colusa and playing with 13 men on the pitch, Napa put in two quick tries. Final... Napa 27 Colusa 10.

The Sacramento Capitals battled Vacaville in the Men's Division II final. The match lived up to it's expectations with the Capitals coming out on top 33-29.

Life West Gladiators battled cross bay foe, EPA Razorbacks in the final match of the day. The match was highly contested on both sides with EPA taking the lead 15-10 with eight minutes remaining. Life tied the match and then put in an additional score to win the Division I Men's Championship in the closing minutes. Final... Life West 22 EPA Razorbacks 15.

Life West Gladiatrix, Napa Valley RFC, Sacramento Capital and the Life West Gladiators will travel to Seattle, WA on Saturday, May 7th to play in the USA Rugby Sweet 16 ARC1 Championship... also known at the Pacific North West Championship.
