If you are currently using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or 7 (IE6 or IE7),
you may experience any of the following issues when viewing this website:
1. Uncorrectable errors:
-Left side navigation bar may not appear
-Page content may appear jumbled or improperly formatted
-Little white boxes with red "x"s may appear next to links and images (even though both are displayed correctly)
Currently none of these issues can be corrected by the viewer as the issues exist inside IE, but, hopefully, the newer editions of Microsoft Internet Explorer will resolve these issues (Thus far, there have been no reports of these issues with IE8).
2. Correctable errors:
Another issue with Microsoft Internet Explorer are the pop-ups warning about secure and non-secure items:
IE6 and IE7:
"This site contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you wish to display the nonsecure items?"
"Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?"
This problem can be fixed by the user in two different ways:
A. The simple fix:
-Look at the website address in your browser above
-Change the following:
https:// -----> http://
That is, remove the "s" from https://
By doing this, you will be viewing a non-secure version of the website.
B. The advanced fix:
Note: This fix changes the settings of your browser (not just for this website).
As always, the standard disclaimer applies here: Any changes you make to your web browser are your responsibility. If you do not feel comfortable making this change, then don't do it.
If you would like to change your IE settings to eliminate the pop-ups, here are the instructions:
-Go to the top of your browser and select "Tools"
-Select "Internet Options" from the drop down menu
-Click on "Security" tab
-Select "Custom level" button toward the bottom
-Scroll down to the "Miscellaneous" section
-Look for "Display Mixed Content"
-You will see three options:
--Enable = The non-secure items will display --and-- you will not get the pop-ups/warning
--Disable = The non-secure items will not display --and-- you will not get the pop-ups/warning
--Prompt = Current setting. You will receive a pop-up/warning every time there are secure and non-secure items
-Select "Enable" to view all content
-Click "Ok" twice to close the security and internet options windows
-You may need to close your browser and re-open it to see the change
